Participation

This project looks at the impacts of plant closures and mass retrenchment on workers and their families, and how they and their communities may best transition into the future. In particular, we want to know how retrenchment impacts people’s working lives, retraining, education and health. Our study investigates these issues and provide feedback to companies and governments across Australia on how services and supports can work better in the future.

Participants have been directly invited to participate in the Future Work, Future Communities research project. Former autoworkers have been invited to participate in our:

Longitudinal survey for retrenched autoworkers

Workers who participated in the 2021/22/23 round of the longitudinal survey will be contacted between May and August 2024 to see how their circumstances may have changed. These interviews will again be run by EY Sweeney as our trusted administrators.
